Text Box: members... MAKING A DIFFERENCE
There’s a quiet revolution taking place. It started with a concerned group of sheet metal workers who took the step from passive complaining to proactive involvement.  What evolved next was conversations which led to meetings, meetings which led to ideas.  From gathering at houses to meeting at libraries, our members stayed vigilant with idea’s that together, we could create a better local.  Together, members would reenergize our rank & file. Together, members will start a new labor movement.  Through grass roots organizing, members began to advocate and empower each other.  Next came brochures, a website and a newsletter.  Advertising in local labor publications, and a booth at the St. Paul Labor Day celebration has brought attention to our cause at both a local and national level.  The ‘Members First Initiative’ is, and must be the first step to union democracy, and a new labor movement.
We boast of a "free labor movement" in the United States. To be truly free the labor movement must post & guarantee certain freedoms to our members: the right of free speech in the shop and on the union floor; free press – the right to distribute leaflets and papers to fellow-members without censorship; free assembly – the right to meet with our fellow unionist to discuss union affairs and form caucuses; fair elections with an honest count; fair trials before impartial trial committees; equality and fairness when it comes to job dispatch. Communication; To communicate all information to all members regarding finances, contracts, and events. To put it in a nut shell: union democracy means civil liberties for members inside their unions. Members always come first!

SHAME ON YOU BANNER

Text Box: Rank & File members stay vigilant under intimidation and false charges.  Corruption of power leads union officials to retaliate after their losses in an election that proves members seek change within their union. Legal Council and International Reps. diss-miss case without merit. TWICE! What were they thinking? SHAME ON YOU!
YOUR ACTIONS WILL HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE!
Members ask: Where is the accountability Craig S.? Where is the reprimand and apology?                                                                                                           The whole story coming soon!
